Kuakata Beach: The Natural Beauty of Barisal

Lilabhumi Sagar Kanya Kuakta is located in the Patuakhali district of great beauty. Kuakata Beach is the only beach in South Asia where you can stand and watch the sunrise and sunset. Watching the sun rising through the belly of the sea. The sun disappearing into the sea’s bosom.

After crossing the Kuakata Beri Dam towards the beach, a private museum is on the left. A few yards further south “Farms and Farms” has a large coconut grove with fruit and flower gardens. Several picnic spots have been set up in this garden, then these picnic spots there is a huge 15 km long beach in Kangkhit.

On the east side of Kuakata Beach, these are the first to be seen coconut plantations, and beautifully shaped gardens. The beach has been beautified by planting various species of shrubs under the initiative of the Forest Department. There are also picnic spots between the coconut and the Jhowbagan. Where tourists gather in groups. A little further to the east is the Char-Gangamati Lake. A little inland from there is the Ashram of Sri Sri Nukum Tagore of Satsanga and the huge Buddhist monastery of Misripara.

West side of the beach in Lembupara every year from Ashwin to Chaitra month the fishermen build the Shutki village naturally. At this Shutaki village, various species of seafish are naturally converted into Shutaki and supplied all over the country. It is best to go to Zhaubne to watch the sunrise at Kuakata. The sunset is best seen from there.

For Tourists

Kuakata Beach has motorbikes and horses for rent for visitors and adventure seekers. Fares are usually based on distance and time. There are several chars around Kuakata. You can go to see them by speedboats and trawlers or by motorboats. Kuakata has several picnic spots around the beach. They have all the cooking facilities. From stove, chalk, bone, pan to cook.”

There are cruise ships trawlers and speed boats for tourist trips to the coast. Boarding these ships and trawlers, the tourists wander in the deep sea. Fill themselves with endless self-satisfaction. A cruise ship has good dining facilities.

How to go Kuakata

Its distance by road from Dhaka is 380 km, from Barisal 108 km. Several buses from Dhaka now go directly to Kuakata. You can go to Kuakata from Gabtali or Syedabad bus stand by multiple transport vehicles including express transport, and Sakura transport directly from Dhaka. These buses will drop you 200 meters from Kuakata Beach. Rent 500-550. The total time to travel from Dhaka to Kuakata by bus is about 12/13 hours.

A BRTC bus leaves from Khulna for Kuakata at 7 am. It takes about 7/8 hours to travel from Khulna. Among the buses that also depart from Khulna to Kuakata are – Seven Star Seven Deluxe, Kuakata Express, Royal Paribahan, and Howladar Paribahan.

All of them are non-AC and the rent is 500 Tk.

If you want to come from North Bengal, you can take Rupsa or border intercity train from Syedpur to Khulna. If you arrive at night, you can take the BRTC bus at 7 am to go to Kuakata.

From Dhaka Sadarghat, board luxury double-decker MV Parabat, MV Saikat, MV Sundarban, MV Saadat, MV Prince of Barisal, MV Patarhat, MV Akoost launch cabin to Patuakhali, or You can reach Kuakata by Rent-a-Car / Kuakata bus from Kalapara. Launches on the mentioned routes from Dhaka leave the launch jetty between 5 PM and 7 PM. Single cabin fare is Tk 1000 and double cabin fare is Tk 1800.

Accommodation

Kuakata has two Dak Bungalows and Sagar Kanya Tourism Holiday Homes. LGED has two, one for roads and public roads, two for Zilla Parishad, one for Rakhine Culture Academy, and one rest house. If you want to stay in these places, you have to take prior permission from the concerned department.

Besides, about half a hundred small and big residential hotels and motels have been built in this tourist city by private initiative.
